Application Deadline: NSF Fellowship in Advanced Quantitative Methods to Broaden STEM Education Participation
The University of Chicago in partnership with Michigan State University is launching a second three-year NSF Summer Institute in Advanced Quantitative Methods for STEM education research. The institute focuses on developing leadership among a new generation of early- and mid-career researchers of STEM education, especially those making research endeavors to promote STEM learning among students from underrepresented backgrounds. A diverse cohort of 25 NSF SIARM-for-STEM Fellows will be selected to
attend summer courses in 2025 and 2026 in research designs and causal inference, measurement, social network analysis/computational methods, multilevel modeling, and causal mediation and decomposition analyses;
- engage in round-table discussions at each summer institute
- receive continuous methodological support between summers
- complete and present a high-quality signature project in summer 2027
- receive support from the advisory board, expand professional networks, and develop collective leadership
Applicants must have obtained a PhD or EdD degree by Summer 2025.
Applications will be accepted through January 6. Priority will be given to applications submitted by December 9.
