Workshop Slides: Turning Proposal Ideas into Full-Fledged Winning ECR Proposals

Tool

May 30, 2024  |  ECR PI Meeting  |  Arlington, Virginia

This workshop, which took place at the 2024 ECR PI Meeting, targeted attendees without prior funding as an ECR PI and assumed participants had already developed a one-pager for their ECR proposal idea (for either BCSER IID or ECR:Core).

Experienced BCSER IID and ECR:Core PIs discussed their pearls of wisdom on turning a one-page proposal idea into a full-fledged competitive proposal and shared their own successful experiences, including lessons the PIs wished they had learned earlier. The workshop explored topics such as grant writing, partnership formation, and budget planning through hands-on activities, group discussions, and peer-to-peer networking opportunities. The content particularly focused on the initial phases of turning an idea into an outline for a 15-page project description, while directing attendees to existing online resources for later proposal development stages after the PI meeting.
